Staff Accountant
Job Description:

This position will report to the Controller and will be responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting and financial reporting functions. The Staff Accountant will help ensure key accounting functions are organized, efficient, and accurate by adhering to established accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. This is a hands-on role requiring an individual who is adaptable yet detail-oriented, a team player and comfortable interacting with a variety of people in a dynamic, growth-oriented organization.
Essential Responsibilities
To excel in this position, an individual must be coachable, collaborative, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Key responsibilities include:
Accounting
Support a variety of day-to-day accounting functions to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial reporting and related accounting activities. Essential activities and key responsibilities include:
- Accounts receivable invoicing and collection processing; ensure customer records are accurate and processed in a timely manner
- Accounts payable processing and payment generation; ensure vendor records are accurate and processed in a timely manner
- Fixed asset reporting
- Preparation of bank, credit card, and other balance sheet account reconciliations
Financial Reporting
Under the direction of the Controller,
- Assist with month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial close activities and reporting
- Maintain all necessary files and records to document transactions
- In collaboration with accounting team, provide recommendations for process improvement with respect to accounting workflows
- Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested

Requirements
- Working knowledge of GAAP and related professional accounting standards and regulations
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, filters, etc.)
- High attention to detail and accuracy required
- Strong time management skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience

Proficiency and knowledge of Microsoft Office Products and NetSuite software. -

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
