E-Commerce Marketplace Specialist

The person in this position is responsible for managing and optimizing our e-commerce presence, product catalog, and Shopify ecosystem. As we continue to build out this sales channel, this position will be tasked with managing the day-to-day holistic flow of the sales cycle. The individual will be tasked with growing sales through a focus on consumer promotions and business-to-business relationship building that creates opportunities for consumer and corporate sales. The role will maintain the Goodstocktx.com marketplace, manage third-party platforms and vendors, and work directly with customers to create and deliver a world-class experience. This person will work closely with our supply chain and marketing teams to continue to improve our eCommerce distribution network, sales performance, and supporting marketing initiatives.

Essential Responsibilities

To excel in this position, an individual must be able to think creatively, problem-solve, and approach decision making through data and analytics. Good people skills will be essential to building corporate business relationships and providing differentiating customer service.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Create, manage, and optimize product listings across the marketplace. This includes catalog updates, maintenance, product images, accuracy of information and up to date inventory, as well as a progressive evolution of improving the customer journey.
  • Monitor marketplace competition and be able to provide information on the competitive landscape.
  • Identify and promptly react to marketplace issues, e.g., suspended or suppressed listings, unwanted attribute changes, inventory issues, copyright/trademark/patent infringement, price and cost discrepancies, incorrect or late shipments, etc.
  • Propose promotional strategies to senior management and work with the marketing team leaders to implement supporting advertising initiatives and sales materials.
  • Generate and review reporting that can then be applied to future decision making and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to populate listings with optimized written content and supporting visuals.
  • Champion optimization of web content (SEO) to increase search engine visibility.
  • Execute cost-efficient SEM practices (content strategy) to increase click-through, conversion rates, and improve customer acquisition cost.
  • Identify and create new relationships and partnerships that can accelerate our positioning and success within the corporate gift space.
  • Utilize multiple software platforms to manage e-commerce inventory and work closely with our supply chain team to plan and execute replenishment of products within the appropriate lead time.
  • Collaborate with our marketing and supply chain teams to develop, enhance, and source packaging materials and supplies.
  • Manage all inbound customer service phone calls and troubleshoot any issues.
  • Own all day-to-day correspondence and directional guidance with our third-party fulfillment center.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Information Technology or related field
  • 1-5 years' experience with e-commerce, packaged goods or consumer marketing
  • Significant Experience with Shopify, Shopify Plus, and other direct-to-consumer SaaS programs.
  • Ability to adapt to changing needs and demands of the business
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinker

    Ability to work with mathematical concepts and apply such concepts as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
  • Computer Skills
    Proficiency and knowledge of Microsoft Office and Shopify are required.
  • Reasoning Ability
    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
